SUMMARY:CANCELLED: Servilia in Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito
DESCRIPTION:Composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart · Libretto by Caterino Mazzolà\, based on Pietro Metastasio \nConductor: TBA\nDirector: Rodula Gaitanou \nTito: Alek Shrader\nVitellia: Anush Hovhannisyan / Vitellia\nServilia: Emily Pogorelc\nSesto: Annika Schlicht\nAnnio: Ingeborg Gillebo\nPublio: Barnaby Rea \nBergen Philharmonic Orchestra\nEdvard Grieg Choir and guests\n \nAbout La clemenza di Tito: \nMozart’s beautiful last opera is set in Rome\, and explores the appalling jealousies\, ambitions and desperate love affairs during the reign of the emperor Tito. Rome burns\, and Sesto\, a young man driven by obsessive love for Vitellia the would-be empress\, is accused of the crime. But Tito decides on mercy rather than the exercise of power. The opera has profound relevance to current times\, and its miraculous music tells a powerful storyNike footwear | Nike

SUMMARY:Aspasia in Mozart's Mitridate -- CANCELLED
DESCRIPTION:Composer W.A.Mozart · Libretti by Vittorio Amedeo Cigna-Santi\nBased on Jean Racine’s play Mithridate \nIan Page conducts an outstanding cast in a concert performance for the opera’s 250th anniversary. \nConductor: Ian Page\nThe Mozartists \nMitridate: Stuart Jackson\nAspasia: Emily Pogorelc\nSifare: Samantha Clarke\nFarnace: Patrick Terry\nIsmene: Soraya Mafi\nArbate: TBA \nAbout Mitridate:\nIt’s the 250th anniversary of the 14-year-old Mozart’s ambitious opera — celebrate it by hearing it performed on period instruments by The Mozartists. Mitridate\, re di Ponto was first heard at the Teatro Regio Ducale in Milan on 26 December 1770. The piece marked the end of Mozart’s first trip to Italy\, and was the first operatic success for the composer still a month short of his 15th birthday. Based on Racine’s tragedy Mithridate\, the story is set in a port on the southern shores of the Black Sea. King of Pontus\, Mitridate\, has just been defeated by the Roman army\, and is rumored to have been killed. His two sons see the opportunity to make advances on Mitridate’s beautiful fiancée\, but all is not as it seems. With unprecedented hubris\, the birds believe they are the Gods’ equal and can build their own powerful state\, which will practically starve the Gods. How mistaken they are – at once foolhardy and ridiculously risible\, with a tragic end for the rebels. \nWalter Braunfels version is idiosyncratic and stand-alone – Braunfels adds a deeply romantic aspect to the piece while remaining true to the comedy. He not only understands the new polity of the birds in political terms; he also does so artistically and lyrically. The new state’s failure is attributed to both a lust for power and a misplaced idealisation. The ancient myth is reflected in the sorrowful experiences of a world of yesterday. For Braunfels the ruins of the First World War are visible signs all around of both political and spiritual decay – his opera is a final emphatic uprising against the fragmentation of the present. One hundred years later the work’s first new production now follows at the point of its world premiere.\n \nlatest Running Sneakers | Mens Flynit Trainers

SUMMARY:Chamber Music at Bethany-- CANCELLED
DESCRIPTION:Emily returns to the Chamber Music at Bethany. Further details about the program are to be announced! \nAbout Chamber Music at Bethany\nChamber Music at Bethany was founded by Northwestern faculty pianist Yasuko Oura and Grammy-winning flutist Tim Munro to bring world-class chamber music to Chicago’s north side in an intimate\, accessible setting. Nestled in the beautiful Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago\, the historic Bethany United Church of Christ offers an ideal setting for musicians and audiences to come together in an acoustically pleasing venue. As music director at Bethany\, Yasuko saw firsthand the enthusiasm that the local community and congregation shared for high quality classical music. Yasuko and Tim also saw the desire of top musicians in Chicago to have an outlet to play chamber music together. These musicians include Grammy-winning artists\, members of the Chicago Symphony\, and alumni of prestigious schools including the Juilliard School\, Oberlin Conservatory of Music\, and Curtis Institute of Music. Chamber Music at Bethany brings them together to offer exceptional live classical music to all.best Running shoes brand | Nike
