Acclaimed American soprano Emily Pogorelc unveils an expansive 2025–2026 season that spans eleven cities and includes several major role and house debuts, orchestral collaborations, and return appearances at some of the world’s leading opera houses and festivals.
“I’m so unbelievably excited to share these incredible masterworks with audiences around the globe! From singing in Spain for the first time to debuting dream roles like Susanna in Figaro and Sophie in Rosenkavalier, this season is full of thrilling moments I can’t wait to experience,” says Pogorelc.
The season opens on 4 September 2025 with a performance of Mahler’s Fourth Symphony with the Royal Danish Opera Orchestra, conducted by Marie Jacquot, in Copenhagen. Pogorelc sings the radiant soprano solo in this beloved symphonic work in a special orchestral concert setting.
She then makes her house debut at Opernhaus Zürich, starring as Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier—a role debut—in a new production directed by Lydia Steier and conducted by Joana Mallwitz. The production runs from 21 September to 26 October 2025, with eight performances.
In October, she joins Manfred Honeck and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra (9 & 11 October 2025) for a pair of celebratory operetta concerts. November brings a house and role debut at the Wiener Staatsoper, where she appears as Nannetta in Verdi’s Falstaff (8–17 November 2025).
Pogorelc debuts with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra on 9 December 2025, performing as the soprano soloist in Handel’s Messiah, under the baton of Manfred Honeck.
She begins the new year with a return to Salzburg, reprising her role as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte at the Mozartwoche Festival (23, 27 & 30 January 2026), in a new production directed by Rolando Villazón and conducted by Joana Mallwitz.
In February, Pogorelc makes her role debut as Marie in Smetana’s The Bartered Bride at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich (7–17 February 2026). She then appears in Washington, D.C. for another role debut, singing Leïla in Bizet’s Les pêcheurs de perles with Washington Concert Opera (14 March 2026).
A major highlight of the spring is her Dutch National Opera debut in a new production of Le nozze di Figaro, where she makes her role debut as Susanna—having previously sung both Barbarina and Cherubino in past productions. This marks her third new role in the opera, and the production is directed and designed by Kirill Serebrennikov in a co-production with Komische Oper Berlin. Francesco Corti conducts the nine-performance run from 8–28 May 2026 in Amsterdam.
In the summer, Pogorelc returns to the Semperoper Dresden as Juliette in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette (1–11 July 2026), followed by a final appearance of the season as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte at the Festival Internacional de Santander in Spain (4 & 6 August 2026).
From Mozart heroines to operetta jewels, from grand romantic roles to symphonic masterpieces, Pogorelc’s 2025–2026 season celebrates her extraordinary range, dramatic instincts, and growing presence on the world’s most prestigious stages.
