Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro at Dutch National Opera
May 8, 2026 @ 7:00 pm

Emily Pogorelc makes both her role debut as Susanna and her house debut at Dutch National Opera in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, conducted by Francesco Corti and directed by the internationally acclaimed Kirill Serebrennikov.
Mozart’s comic masterpiece, with a libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte, follows a single day of romantic chaos in the household of Count Almaviva. Susanna, Figaro’s quick-witted bride-to-be, must navigate the Count’s unwanted advances, mistaken identities, and an escalating web of secrets to protect her future.
Pogorelc takes on the iconic role of Susanna after previous turns as Barbarina (Curtis Institute) and Cherubino (Bayerische Staatsoper, Glyndebourne Festival), bringing fresh vitality and charm to one of opera’s most beloved heroines. She is joined by a distinguished cast including Björn Bürger, Olga Kulchynska, Michael Nagl, and Cecilia Molinari.
This bold new production is a co-production with Komische Oper Berlin and features designs by Serebrennikov’s long-time collaborators Olga Pavlyuk and Tatiana Dolmatovskaya.
