Pamina in Die Zauberflöte at Deutsche Oper Berlin
September 10 @ 7:30 pm

Emily Pogorelc makes her Berlin debut singing Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at the Deutsche Oper Berlin — her first performances in the German capital. Directed by Günter Krämer in a production that has been a cornerstone of the Deutsche Oper repertoire since its 1991 premiere, the staging conjures two vividly opposed worlds: the nocturnal realm of the Queen of the Night and the sun-drenched temple of Sarastro, with Tamino and Papageno navigating primeval forests populated with lions, rhinoceroses, and serpents along the way. Tomáš Netopil conducts the Orchester der Deutschen Oper Berlin.
Pogorelc is joined by tenor Kieran Carrel as Tamino, bass Nicolai Elsberg as Sarastro, soprano Maria Sardaryan as the Queen of the Night, and baritone Padraic Rowan as Papageno.
