Rossini Stabat Mater at the Royal Concertgebouw (House Debut)
November 8 @ 11:00 am

Emily Pogorelc makes her debut at the Royal Concertgebouw, one of the world’s most celebrated concert halls, joining conductor Edward Gardner and the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra for a Sunday morning performance of Rossini’s Stabat Mater. Presented as part of the Concertgebouw’s Sunday Morning Concert series just two days after the same ensemble’s Friday performance at TivoliVredenburg, this concert focuses solely on Rossini’s score — stripping away the surrounding program to place the work in full relief. In Rossini’s hands, Mary’s grief over her crucified son becomes something operatic and expansive, threading moments of intimate contemplation through music of genuine dramatic sweep. The National Radio Choir brings particular expertise to this repertoire.
Pogorelc is joined by mezzo-soprano Ekaterine Buachidze, tenor Edgardo Rocha, and bass Giorgi Manoshvili.
